I'm not expecting a #1, considering Anouk had shipped 60k (Dutch platinum) already, was confirmed to be #1 and is still on top on iTunes since release.
#2 might be hard too, considering that other bitch was also high there.

But there is a main problem in germany... We dont have any chance to see/enjoy international artists. I dont know how Allstar, Drowned_World and the other german **** feel about that ... but I'm really pissed.
If it weren't for the Germanys Next Top Model Finale... the only promo-spot would be Wetten, dass. But that show airs only like every 4 weeks and the next one will be in late July (summer break). So, if GNTM and Wetten, dass stop airing at some point... DEAD!
- We don't have any late night talkshows with international musical guests (+ performance) like Letterman, Leno, Ellen, Oprah, Jools Holland, Graham Norton or whatever.
- We don't have any shows like SNL (at all).
- We don't have any music-related shows like 106 & Park, Top of the Pops, TRL.
- We don't have the chance (most of us) to watch MTV since it's not part of the german free-TV anymore (I myself am not able to watch it).
- We didn't get to the see the HBO special and I'm sure we won't. Pro7 or Sat1 show concerts once in a while... around MIDNIGHT. Great.
- We don't have any musical guests/perfomances on German Idol/X Factor/Dancing with the Stars or whatever.
- We don't have any access to the official musicvideos/audio-tracks on YouTube.
So, I don't understand how Germany made it into the Top3 of the most important musicmarkets (the numbers are impressive...) since there is no opportunity for an artist to promote any music. The only chance for us to catch any new music is the radio, tv channel VIVA (they premier new musicvideos and play videos for a couple of hours) and the Internet. If I wouldn't be online.. I didn't even know JUDAS was released.
As I said... the day Wetten, dass ends (its running for like 20 years) there is barely any chance to see (big) international artists. GNTM doesn't even count because the finale is only once a year and I don't think that show will be around for long. We do have a show called The Dome (Gaga performed twice) but I don't think she'll be performing again and it airs only like twice a years.. Oh, and yes, we do have a show called TV TOTAL with international guests (Eminem, Pink, Kylie, Justin Timberlake in the past...) but it airs pretty late, the show is lame and I dont think it helps because --> again, no performance.
MESS!

Agreed!
A couple of days ago I thought about my friends, who aren't THAT into music and stuff...they always get new music from me.
They didn't know that Judas is out and **** like that. No commercials, no performances, no music videos (TV AND Internet...because youtube is not allowed to show them to german IP's)
It sucks hard, but I'm glad to have sites like ATRL and Co.

Omg that guy/girl vandalizes like every poster in NYC. I was in the subway on 49th in times square a couple weeks ago and all the movie posters(madea, bridesmaids, etc) had that on it

I totally agree with this, though we have international music guests performing at X-Factor. It just happens that X-Factor is on VOX and as a result of that it doesn't get a lot of viewers.
We can watch the videos legal on Myvideo, but that site is **** and barely anyone visits it for music, because of its ****** commercials and uncomfortable design.
TV Total has no influence on chart performances for big stars imo, only for newbies and GNTM happens to have worse and worse counts of viewers too. The Dome would definitely help, but the next one is in two days and I don't see Gaga being in Germany already. VIVA is a mess and they only premier music videos very late.
Germany pretty much sucks because of things like that.
Great post.

Just wanted to say that and let me add that Italy isn't the third biggest music market, so Germany is far more important.

A shame.
They should let stars perform on Das Supertalent and should air X-Factor on RTL, but I guess it wouldn't be only about the singer then anymore just like DSDS.

Here in Italy there aren't big shows where promote international albums. I doubt Sanremo can afford Gaga's presence, she's too big for them.
