Yes. I don't see why they shouldn't/cant be counted. They're a sale, and Amazon is paying for it to promote it's cloud service. A sale is a sale whether it's 1 cent or $100 mil.

Glad the album will get its #1 debut, I wasn't bothered either way as long as it reached #1, but it seemed to mean a lot to some of the people here

Of course Amazon sales will be counted. They ARE album sales. We do not know how many copies Amazon has sold, though.
