This has to be the most pathetic thread I've ever seen on this site (which is saying a lot, really ). Are some of you so determined to discredit her success that you're willing to cling so desperately to an article that was written by someone who has already proven to be an unreliable source? The very definition of threatened.

And I know some of you will cite this as a "source" when she gets what are sure to be high first week sales. Sad.

So far it has been a healthy discussion.

We are talking about a confirmed album promotion by the biggest pop star in the world right now.

We are here to discuss the ethical considerations of this kind of promotion.

Is it a form of cheating or is it simply a brilliant idea of promoting new material?

To be honest, I really don't care about the 'manipulation'. I wouldn't care if anyone else did it either.

Fact is, this thread has been split into people who are glad GaGa's team have shown the initiative to make deals like this and people who are simply bummed that their faves didn't think of this idea first...

Yeah, I don't see what that has to do with my post. I was merely responding to the post where someone asked for proof. You can't provide proof for either situations, so it's pointless to even argue it.

It's like when Taylor sold her album for $3.99 on Amazon and the pressed were claiming that's why she crossed a million, when in the end it didn't even account for 10% of her first week sales.

Amazon accounted for only 47k of Taylor's first week sales.
