Ahh, right. To be honest, it is marketing genius. Interscope don't need to be desperate to get sales for GaGa, it is pretty obvious the album will sell itself. But there is no better way to get people to listen to the album who wouldn't normally than by giving it to them. It could bring so many new fans if people give it a chance and realise it isn't an album of Born This Ways or Judass, it is an album of Scheisses and Heavy Metal Lovers. Perfect promotion.
