I've thought really hard about this today, & I realized it it horrible how we celebrated a man's death. I'm very disappointed in myself. This should have been a time for peace & thoughtfulness, that a little bit of terror has calmed down. It should be peaceful, be a little happy. Not parading down streets or getting drunk (like I did), a time of reflection that we've finally have a moment of peace. It's horrible how I acted, he is a human being, & although I believe his death was justified, we should not have been partying our asses off. I'm a bit disappointed

Sorry, but american people believes everything their government tell them.
This is not just about september 11th, there are lot of things american people just don't know.
Many inocent people died because of this stupid war. And most of them are not americans.

But isn't that what we're supposed to do when someone dies. Celebrate their life? That's what we're doing here in the States. Celebrating

Yeah, I feel a little weird about the parades going on because of this man's death. But, what he did and the pain he caused can not be forgotten either. So, its not fair to fault the ones celebrating.

Flag burned at LSU
POSTED BY JORDAN BLUM | CAPITOL NEWS BUREAU | ON MAY 2, 2011 | 11:10 A.M.
The American flag over LSU’s War Memorial at the Parade Ground was cut down and burned early Monday in the hours after Osama bin Laden’s death was reported, the university confirmed.
LSU Police responded to a call at about 5:45 a.m. Monday concerning the flags being cut down from the War Memorial flagpole, said LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard.
“The American flag was burning and the LSU flag was missing,” Ballard said.
LSU Police are investigating the incident, he said.
Dustin Englehart, an LSU student and U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq, said he was disappointed to hear about the desecration, especially after the initial reaction of “accomplishment and peace” over bin Laden’s death,
“That’s not the reaction we’re looking for,” Englehart said of the vandalism. “To have it happen in our own backyard, it’s like a step backwards.”

My initial raction to this is to condemn those who are basically crucifying whoever burned the flag. It's just a flag! Much worse has happened to this country. The fact that people are in an uproar over this makes me believe that these people have no right to ever question Muslims who get offended whenever Muhammed is depicted, like he was in South Park. How are the two at all different?
I for one am proud that a person could feel safe enough in America to do something like burn an American flag. That doesn't make what he/she did any less douchey, the only reason someone does something like this is to incite people, which I don't think is right, but if someone wants to express their opinion on the matter by burning a flag, the they have the power to do so. Shame on anyone spewing hate towards the people responsible for this. I hope for their sake they don't get caught. People are very sensitive right now.
Your thoughts?

I understand what you mean, but I could never be indifferent to someone burning the flag. It's an incendiary move, and anyone who burns the flag is doing it to incite a reaction, as they know how important of a symbol it is to Americans. That said, I agree Americans are often hypocritical in that they don't respect what's sacred to others, but honestly I think that's a characteristic that shared by everyone and not limited to Americans (though I do think Americans are more nationalistic than most).

I actually have an issue with this Osama Bin Laden thing...
OK first I must say that I completely understand the fact that most US people was very affected for the 9/11 attacks and many people lost family and friends in the terrorist act
BUT
1. Don't you think that celebrating someone's dead is pretty bad? Mostly if he was killed very... let's say "raw".
2. Do ya'll US people think this way? Are you all happy for this and do you celebrate his death?
3. How can a Peace Nobel Prize award winner can say that his missions in the outside of the country killed a man?
4. How can Obama say that they proudly killed someone and then say "God Bless Us"? In the Bible there is stated that humans must not killed each other
5. I understand that "justice" has been done but he should've had a trial like Hussein had
I don't know you but i CAN'T (sorry edited) celebrate Bin Laden's death... not because I support him... is just that I believe that NO ONE's life should been taken... NO MATTER WHAT
But this is my opinion... I want to know yours

Even if he had been caught alive, I'm sure he would have been sentenced to death penalty anyway.
However, some people think this is all a hoax.

Ok, Obama did not kill anyone. Did you forget this man Osama grabbed an innocent woman to shield himself from the gunfire & got her killed. The "God bless america" part, im sure was for all of the families who consistently had to relive the heart break of their innocent love ones dying, & they can now be at peace.
I don't think its ok to celebrate the death, but in my eyes they were celebrating the capture of a disgusting man who deserved to suffer for what he's done to millions of people. IMO The fact that he got shot on the spot should be good enough because in reality, he should've suffered like the people he killed.
They had no choice to live so why should he?
He didnt even worship god, so I dont think God should be a factor in this. What comes around goes around & you dont do such a despicable thing to people, then expect to die peacefully. He had it coming.

I think being happy over death is justified in this instance. It's not just an American thing (although it's been made to seem that way), it's better for the entire world. He didn't give a **** about who he killed - innocent civilians, women, children, husbands, wives, daughters, sons, sisters, brothers, etc. And he got others to subscribe to his radical and evil worldview. If you're not happy, I think you should reconsider.

He killed a lot of innocent people, I understand what the US government did was eye for an eye. They only had 1 chance to eliminate bin Laden, their only options that time were to either kill him or he goes away and hides again.
