I really don't know what people were expecting as far as the song's digital performance right out the gate goes. Beyonce isn't a pop princess, she's always been more of an album seller, and her singles do not play the "one week and out" game.

That's not true. Beyonce stans are constantly being attacked! We have at least one random troll on every page of this thread. So of course we are going to be locked, loaded, and ready to D.A.B. (drag a bish)
People keep bringing up the "Single Ladies" comparison, but that did not get NEARLY as bad of a response as this. And on top of that, it flew to #1 on iTunes the DAY of release.
I think this song WILL be a hit due to the video & performances, but #1 just seems unlikely.
Ummm no the **** it didnt, If I Were A Boy was the song that flew to number 1 on iTunes. Single Ladies was released October 8, 2008 and didn't top the Hot 100 until December 2008, it didnt do super well on iTunes until after the AMA performance sent it boosting +350k.

Uh. Single Ladies wasn't on iTunes until the album was released and it sped up to #1 that night.
I just need April to be the **** over already, because the song wasn't due out until May 16th which means we wont be getting any real promo until then, but I aint mad though. Cause Adele just hit #1 and Rolling In The Deep came out back in November 2010. A #1 single means nothing to me if it only sells about 2 million, I need at least 3.5 million from everything since I know its now possible.
