I can't believe I've been blasting that song since 2 am. Now it's almost 6 and I'm supposed to wake up at 8. Only Beyoncé.
You know the **** is good when this happens to you.
I can't believe that some people actually compared this to Ring the Alarm, which is one of my favorite songs from her. Overall, i think the song is a dissapointment and certainly not up to the caliber of her past singles, and i'm not just talking first singles.
The production is ok, but my biggest gripe is with the juvenile lyrics. She's a grown woman so it's uncomfortably odd to her hear singing "girls run the world". As someone mentioned, it definately sounds like a song more appropriate fo Willow Smith.
Also, Beyonce (imo) always deliver's captivating melodies that grab you and refuse to let go, even in uptempo songs which clearly demonstrates her capability. This song, at least from 00:00 until 2:30 lacks any enjoyable melody at all. It's simply jarring.....But after 2:30 it becomes OK.....
With that said, I think they'll spin this song on Urban radio w/o a doubt, but i can't see pop embracing it at all.
Cause the demo of a song that speaks about bearing children, making millions, graduating from college and being a woman is appropriate for a 10 year old to sing?

As if that matters. If S&M dominated pop radio, I don't want to hear that excuse for Girls.
On second thought, I may be misunderstanding your comment. If so, disregard this.
