They're not rubbing off on me. The Best Damn Thing sold 780k copies in its first week. GL is 4 weeks in and has JUST hit 700k. Still less than TBDT We all have to face we're in a flop era

I still think there's hope.

Plus honestly I don't think Avril expected it to sell well, singles nor album-wise. Either way I'm fine with it's performance. Though I still we need to all band together and do something crazy for Smile.

Fact of the matter is that the album = perfection.

And if Avril decides to make the next one more dance-y...well, we can always hope for more booty action in her videos.

No, but I think this era isn't OVER, but it IS a flop so far.

We have Gym Class Hero single, 'Smile' and of course the final plan/last resort RCA will use 'Wish You Were Here'. If that doesn't work, we will be moving onto the Alex Da Kid songs by early 2012

6 steps on how to be successful in the music industry

1) Stop writing your own songs, Avril. Who wants meaningful, personal music when you can have a Max Martin-Dr.Luke disco?! Just get them to do all the work and you can take the credit for it! It works for Britney and Rihanna!

2) Stop singing live. Whats the point? As long as you put on a nice little dance routine, everybody will be happy! Make sure you show off as much of your body as possible - especially the boobs and arse.

3) Lose all of your dignity. Avril, you have far too much dignity and pride to be in the music business. Have a few sex tapes, maybe have your own reality TV show, sing about sex and make sure you regularly get drunk. Do something controversial. Maybe shave your head or tell everybody you have sex with girls. Oh, I know! Be racist to somebody or get in a fight! That would be perfect.

4) You need to stop playing those instruments. They just get in the way! I think you should swap the guitar for a blow-up doll that you can make love to on stage - everybody would love it, and it would distract them from your lip-syncing!

5) Ditch the gothic-emo style. It's too weird. You should wear a tiny little skirt with a really low cut top so that everybody can see your boobs. Hopefully, your nipple will fall out which should get you on the front page! Maybe bleach your hair and wear extensions - get rid of any colour in it.

6) Concentrate solely on your music career; ditch the clothing line and forget helping those sick kids - just focus 100% on yourself, and what YOU need and how YOU'RE going to get it. Destroy anybody that gets in your way.

Well done Avril Lavigne. You are now like every other pop star in the world and your frequent public meltdowns will keep you in the limelight. You go from relationship to relationship desperately seeking acceptance and churn out the same boring music with every album. You an awful role model for young girls, but at least you're making money, which is the most important thing!
