Impossible, E.T. will occupy the top spot for at least another two weeks.

Paul Grein:
Five Britney Spears tracks- led by 'Till the World Ends" at No. 15- appear on Hot Digital Songs, but "Hold It Against Me" is not one of them- it was #66 on the 4/9 chart, but this week, the impact of "Complete My Album" returns resulted in negative sales this week.
Interesting... I always wondered how the "Complete My Album" feature worked.

Enough fans took advantage of that clever gimmick that the song showed negative sales this week. (Whoever came up with that idea deserves a raise.)
|
I think I get it now. fans who bought hold it against me used the complete the album function and its sales turned into the album's sales? negative sales is something new

^ When someone completes an album, they also buy -1 copies of any singles from it they have. That way sales aren't counted twice since completing an album reduces the price depending on how many songs from it you've already purchased.

Yeah, it's wierd but it makes sense. I'm surprised the effects haven't been more noticable in the past

thanks. It's kinda funny, I want to see the sales. and I guess this will happen with Born this way too.
Though I don't understand one thing... why did it happen with hold it against me and not till the world ends? people purchased hold not as a part of the album but as "hold it against me - single" so it's technically two different things. while world was released as a part of the femme fatale pre-order

HIAM sales only turned negative if you opted to complete the album, not buy the album seperately (I think), but I get what you mean about TTWE. Sales of 90k would mean it 'really' sold 90k+the CMA sales this week... this is confusing :scary:
