I love Martin, but this implies he didn't have a dry spell from 01-05. I actually think Britney was at her most creative when she wasn't with Max. In The Zone and Blackout are probably two of her most artistic albums and neither of them have any shred of Martin on them. There is no doubt that Max and Britney are musical soul-mates but he does seem to creatively stifle her. She doesn't participate as much when he is around, and musically he babies her which is understandable. There is a reason why Martin is called Britney's musical parent back in the 99'-01' days.
She should definitely experiment outside the lines. I wouldn't mind if she came back to him every now and then. He is effective. But every song shouldn't be made by Martin. Britney is at the forefront of pop music and is their stealth avant-gardist. She should keep it fresh at all times.
