Given the month and industry climate -- Britney's sales are good.
For an artist of Britney's stature, the sales could be better....but they are strong enough, especially for an artist that has been around for so long.
Usher's Raymond v. Raymond debuted almost EXACTLY the same time last year and debuted with 300K. Considering how similar Britney and Usher are in career length and the amount of promotion that was done for their first week -- Britney is right on target.
As for Femme Fatale longevity --- like Usher --- it looks like a certain will.i.am track will have to give the CD a boost during the summer.
It's completely unfair to compare Circus to Femme Fatale since Circus was "safe-pop" and it was released during the holiday season and just a week after Black Friday.
However, unlike Circus -- Femme Fatale is posed to remain stable on the charts with promotion lined up for the next few weeks as well as a music video and a tour shortly after.
Just promise me not to be dying when GaGa's first week sales are released.......a few months make ALL the difference in the world when it comes to album success. As we all know, the music industry is all about timing.
