Who said it does? I was never the point. But why are bringing the epic HIAM video of into this?

Katy’s Kanye West-featuring video for “E.T.” (watch it here!) is a beautifully shot, visually stunning big-budgeted slice of intergalactic sci-fi space glam.

The aliens in this video sure did look better than Gaga aliens, but I think Gaga was more hybrid? I don't know. I loved the effects in make-up and visuals in E.T. but that's about it. I don't think it is a 'masterpiece,' but I think because people don't see this type of video from Katy often it will get more praise..

In her latest video, for the Kanye West–enhanced "ET," Katy Perry has finally opted not to shoot anything out of her breasts. Instead, she bangs an alien. There have been images of Katy dressed up like an alien going around the Internet for weeks now, but whatever makeup artist got to paint her face should still be proud: Perry's rocking a number of genuinely detailed, outlandish, semi-gorgeous rainbow-kabuki looks. After floating around in outer space for the first few minutes of the song, Perry floats down to Earth, where she basically spots Wall-E with a glowing heart. She wipes off his visor, gives him a kiss, a light goes off, Kanye West floats around and raps for a bit ("What's next, alien sex / I'mma disrobe you / and then probe you"), and it turns out her robot alien is actually an albino African-American. Katy Perry says alien, we say albino African American; Katy Perry says tomato, we say an alliterative thing that sort of sounds like tomato, but is actually nothing like a tomato. Then it turns out that Perry totally doesn't have legs, she has gazelle hooves, because being an alien means being made up of the most graceful parts of Earth's mammals: We're surprised she didn't have a giraffe neck to go with those flanks.

We've seen Katy Perry camp it up in "California Gurls" and go glam in "Thinking of You" and "Teenage Dream," but we've never seen her get extraterrestrial — until now, of course.
Because in her new video for "E.T." — which premiered Thursday (March 31) on MTV.com — Perry plays the titular alien: a swirling, shifting, otherworldly being who crashes to earth to resurrect a long-dormant love and, in the process, perhaps reboot the human race (since, as is often the case with sci-fi exploits, planet Earth has undergone some sort of cataclysmic apocalypse and is now bereft of life). At least, I think that's the plot of the thing, though, really, it's not all that important if I'm wrong. Find out the full story tonight on "MTV First: Katy Perry's 'E.T.'," which bows on air at 7:53 p.m. ET before tossing to an MTV.com live stream, featuring MTV News correspondent Sway's exclusive chat with Perry, an interview with director Floria Sigismondi and reaction from Perry's fans.
"E.T." is a huge-looking, quick-moving blockbuster of a clip, overflowing with eye-catching special effects, opulent costumes and artfully applied makeup (and Kanye cameos), the kind of production where a plot is basically an afterthought. In other words, it's a Hollywood-level spectacle, a summer smash that just so happened to come out in the early days of spring. It's an event.
And really, with each #1 single she notches, it's the kind of clip Katy Perry has earned, one that puts her on par with other pop megastars like Britney and Gaga in the sheer scope of the production.
Working with acclaimed director Floria Sigismondi, Perry has created a video that certainly ranks among her very best and is unquestionably the biggest thing she's ever done, a production preceded by glossy teaser clips and online "abductions." The mind boggles at the cost of the wardrobe and hair extensions alone.
But, much like the plot, none of that really matters. "E.T." is less about the insignificant details and more about the larger picture — a video that not only moves Perry to the upper echelon, but looks and sounds great. It's a widescreen, THX-ian type of thing, meant to be marveled at. Whether or not you do, you can't deny that KP has earned the right to make it. She's finally arrived: fallen from the heavens to take her rightful place among the elite. Welcome our new alien overlord.

I honestly wasn't that hyped up for the video considering I never saw the previews but it's much more than what I expected.

So let's get this straight. This thread is about E.T., NOT BORN THIS WAY OR HOLD IT AGAINST ME.
The people who have tried it have received their warnings. Do you really want to join them?

Katy Perry's latest music video for "E.T." is here and if you were hoping for some steamy scenes to go along with those lyrics, we'll just tell you the theme leans a little -- or a lot -- more toward the "E.T." part.
Opening with Kanye West in a space ship (obviously), we then move on to a singing alien floating through space, who then morphs into Mrs. Russell Brand. Perry isn't just any extraterrestrial though. She rocks various alien fashions and makeup throughout the 5-minute video, including what appear to be deer legs.
It's kind of visually fascinating, entirely creepy and a far cry from "Teenage Dream." Watch the video below and let us know what you think. Is Perry still sexy in alien form?
