Precisely. In terms of collecting favorable critical reviews, she's always been at a bit of a disadvantage, and that's a fact. And I know someone who doesn't know better will try and challenge that and tell us that if Britney was actually releasing good music she'd be receiving good reviews, but that's simply not the case. Britney could release the best pop album in decades (whatever that would be) and I would not expect it to score outside of the 70s.

Exactly. For example, “Blackout” has a 61/100 score at Metacritic, and everyone knows that it was highly critically acclaimed. Credible reviewers have given it an almost deserving score, but the majority of not-so-professional reviewers have labeled it as rather disposable or simply discarded it as yet another Britney album.
After reading some of the reviews her albums have gotten, I’ve started to believe that some of those people didn’t even listen to the actual albums, because they mostly talked about Britney and not the music itself. They need to understand that there is a difference between Britney’s music and her tabloid persona.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a bad review about “Femme Fatale” popped up soon and some dumb reviewer compared it to the movie.
