This is what happens when pop creativity died for many, many years in the mainstream world. Where reality TV stars and tabloid socialites make up the celebrity. Gwen Stefani started out heavily creative in her solo era, but she had always been so it wasn't as new. In the underground scene plenty of acts are creative, perhaps more creative than Gaga, but they are not in the light. Gaga is. She's refered to as an artiste, as Pitchfork put it, so it makes since that people react to her this way. Gaga is not getting too much credit, she's getting back what she puts out.
