It helps a falling song stabilize for another week and remixes can generate sales up to 10K. So I expect S&M to finally be ahead about two or so weeks from now, right around the time Katy blocks her from her 10th (please get to) number 1

The billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Song chart is basically a combination of Urban and Urban AC AI.
It technically still includes Single sales from urban retailers, but i don't think there are any of those retailers left.

It has become a purely airplay Chart, like the Hot100 was after the demise of physical singles and before the rise of downloads;

Girl, i think SM will surprise us. Rih may just do some promo and may release a remix with jcole when her airplay is 100M+ Well see what happens in the next couple weeks

You know, Katy's album sales aren't nothing special. 1,3 million but her singles sales are huge. At least she's slaying at something. You know boo she doesn't have to discount her singles to get #1. But I wasnt talking about singles, I was talking about albums. And since Rihanna has had bad digital performances with her last two singles, like you're implying, it makes her album sales even more impressive, since WMN? and OG were just "lucky" to hit #1 right? Thats what you're saying.

Well than 1,000,000+ with 2 "not really" #1's is far more impressive than 1,000,000+ with 3 HUGE, maybe 4 #1's.



I never have ever shaded Katy's impressive digital performance. And Katy is the one who had to discount her album, how many times?

It is stupid to argue Katy v Rihanna with regards to the US because they are on the same level. Worldwide is a completely different story.

And undeserved #1s? Please. Her label took advantage of an opportunity just like any other of our favorite's labels could do if they so pleased. And it is a bit hypocritical to say the discount is a cheap move when Capitol released a new remix as a separate single with Kanye West. Both moves were so smart & were beneficial to both, but calling one a gimmick & one not is not right.

I have no problem with Katy. I actually really quite like her. Ill pull my quotes of me celebrating E.T.'s success in the mediabase thread, so its not ALL of us.

I just wouldnt be celebrating if Rihanna had 4 HUGE #1's this era, and had such lackluster album sales. Im the type of person who wants to push Rihanna to do the best she can, and thats why I find it weird you guys celebrate. Its great she has 4 #1's, but she might not even sell 20k this week?

Anyway....I think S&M is gonna pass Born This Way tomorrow...
