Gaga is an excellent singer as well. Adele is a better singer, technically. However, in live performance, I feel that Gaga usually comes out in terms of talent. MOST of Adele's live performances sound exactly like the studio version of the song, which is a vocal achievement, but don't add anything extra. Gaga's voice in live performances of her song lends a really genuine and emotional feel to them all that I prefer over Adele. In addition, I prefer Gaga's lyricism over Adele.
I feel like the most notable difference between Gaga and these other artists is that she almost seems like a machine. The quality of her material seems to be rising at an extremely fast pace. Every person she meets seems to make her understanding of music noticeably stronger and her records correspondingly better. In the end, none of these artists could do what Gaga does in terms of Pop music. I believe Gaga COULD do what some of these artists do, though. That seems to be her true talent: the ability to be chameleonic in today's music world.
As for Arcade Fire, they make decent music, but I think they're hugely overrated. I see them compared to Radiohead all the time and I just .
But my opinion of them isn't the point I'm trying to make necessarily. I certainly think that right now people believe that Arcade Fire's music is more true and meaningfully great: thus the acclaim. Pop music sort of just has a stigma of not being able to produce amazing and relevant material, and that certainly hurts Gaga.

I generally agree with this (except for the statement about Arcade Fire being overrated). It does irritate me when people try to marginalize Gaga by saying she has talent by "pop music standards." No, she's a talented musician, period. She's a good singer and a very good pianist by most a blanket musical standard.
There is an inherent predisposition some people have against pop music, whereby the perceived talent of any artist working in that genre is placed on an entirely different ( read: lower) curve from an artist in the, say, alt rock genre. Gaga is hardly re-inventing the wheel within the scope of pop music, but neither is a group like The Black Keys revolutionizing alternative rock either.
Both artists/groups are good, both have talent, and yet the perception many people do have is that a pop musician shouldn't even be uttered in the same sentence as their favorite band. It's one thing to have preferences in terms of which genre you'd rather listen to (we all have them), but that particular bias in terms of how talent is perceived does irritate me.

She's talented but I still think her music isn't anything too special. "Rah rah rah, muh muh ma, papa, papa, ale ale, m-m-m-monster..."
What she has is insane starpower, which cannot be faked with big producers or makeup or photoshop or the greatest marketing team in the world. You can see it within 20 seconds of watching the Just Dance video.

Please explain this whole remix business to me.
So on March 15 they're releasing the remixes...to iTunes and Amazon?
How many songs on the "album"?
And you expect this to add 20-40K to whatever BTW would sell the week of the 14th?

Hmm, well, like I said, I don't think her music is revolutionary (then again, 99.9% of music isn't), but I do think she has written some very, very good songs (along with her fair share of filler/crap, but consistency is less important than hitting those high points, IMO).
Using syllabic repetition as a stylistic motif isn't any indication of questionable quality, either. Lyrics don't have to be profound in order for the music itself to be good any more than a film requires Shakespearean dialogue to have engaging visuals.
I've always been interested in her for her music, first and foremost. If I didn't think she was making good music (for the most part), no amount of "star power" would make up for that deficiency.

I'm most excited for Marry The Night.
I can already imagine myself being alone at the fields here by night and dancing to the song under the stars.

I didn't say her music is deficient or lacking. It's good, catchy pop generally on the same level as that of her peers, with the only advantage being that 80% of her peers are running to the same safe producers and really starting to sound alike.

This.
Though I must say, I believe her consistency seems to be on the rise as well. I really feel like The Fame Monster is a small coherent piece that is great the whole way through. I have grown to love it much more than The Fame.

You could not have said this any better. This stereotype permeates my life so frequently. I cannot tell you how many individuals over the years that have said that a mainstream singer is somehow less talented simply because their songs are able to achieve massive amounts of success. I do firmly believe in the assertion that pop music in general has its bright spots, and its less-than-bright spots. It is when people overgeneralize when I want to show them all of GaGa's live performances to show them how much she is truly an artist.
