So I signed up for Hit Predictor and I am doing that Jukebox thing and I swear to God they better stop with this Carolina Liar crap! I want to hear a Til The World Ends snippet not this crappy Carolina Liar band!

THIS! Also it gives ppl another take on the album. If they didn't like hiam (idk why someone wouldn't but...) it gives them another look at the album. Plus everytime one buys a countdown song it decreases the price of the album on iTunes and more ppm will be tempted to finish purchasing the album.

Yes, but I also think they can affect opening week and overall sales for an album. Case in point, Katy Perry released most of the songs I wanted from "Teenage Dream" before the full album was actually released. Had I not already owned those songs I would have been more inclined to just purchase the full album, but since I had previously purchased most of the songs that sounded like they had potential I didn't bother to complete album.

I'm afraid there would be others who would do something similar to Brit.

But black eyed peas made it work. They did the preorder and look how good the end sold. Carrie underwood did and her album is still selling on the country charts a year and a half later.Taylor swift did the countdown thing a sold 1 million copies in a week.

It's basically doing the same thing that leaks do for an album except Jive can make a little money off of it. I don't think it's a bad idea for an artist like Britney.


Notice that the artists that iTunes Countdowns failed to work for were all flops themselves but artists with big fanbases such as Taylor Swfit, thrived from it

True, and if you buy the countdown songs the album price will start to low and you will be more tempted to buy it. I think it's a great idea.
Besides if the itunes countdown isn't done, people are just gonna buy the individual songs they want out the the album.
