I think S&M could go #1 after BTW if there's ever a window of opportunity. It would be incredibly difficult, GaGa has both the sales & airplay advantage by far. But I don't see what other songs even have potential at the moment. GaGa has everyone in a chokehold.

Bad Romance was a virtual #1. It stayed at #2 for what? Ten weeks? It was a monster hit and an iconic pop record already. Who cares if it hit #1? It was the biggest song in Europe for 2010, for example.
