They should do an iTunes countdown. It could get her 3 to 5 (depending on how many singles they would release) top 3 hits in the US. With right single choices, it could give her a boost in album sales later too.

Releasing promo singles on iTunes in the weeks prior to the album release. The last artist I remember doing one was Taylor Swift (Speak Now, Back To December, Mean.)

If it sells 133K+ it will become the 1st platinum '11 single of the year, along with BTW. If it doesnt, then next week it's def. a lock platinum, first because if Britney doesn't reach platinum this week it would be by a VERY minimum amount. and second the video impact would be larger and more people will have seen it by then. Ex. Pink's FP went #1 on itunes after 10 days of the MV. and Avril went Top 10 after 2 weeks. Britney will enter the top 10, we just have to be patient.

I'm not a fan of the itunes countdown, i don't know why, the thought of a song getting released that isn't a full single But if taylor does it must work.

Yeah. She did it too (Not Like The Movies, Circle The Drain, E.T.). However, she isn't an album seller so they didn’t do much for her.

I really hope she will do an album countdown on itunes, it builds great hype for an album, it may not have done much for Katy but Taylor did it and she opened 1M+. Wasn't Taylor the countdown trendsetter when she did it for Fearless? I don't remember and artist doing that previously.

I kinda doubt team Britney will do it though.

An iTunes countdown is the best choice for building up the hype. It’s like an album preview and many people like listening to 3 or 4 full songs before deciding whether to buy the album or not.

Taylor did it with "Fearless" too (Change, Fearless, You're Not Sorry, You Belong With Me.)

Actually, Jonas Brothers did it first back in summer 2008 when they were still popular. I remember Flo Rida did it in 2009 too. But he's a singles artist.

It works for Taylor because she has the established fan base that buy the albums, Britney obviously has that so it should work for her too. And it would create hype for the album as it would more than likely keep a song of hers continuously in itunes top 10.

also with iTunes download promo thing everytime you download one it lowers the albums sales price... More ppl Would be tempted to complete the album.

Yeah i think a itunes countdown would work out well for album sales. Especially if jive is promoting the album as much as they say they are.

I think she could easily sell close to a million with an iTunes countdown, 800K at least. In addition, it would help "Hold It Against Me" increase as well.
