Everyone decides to be intentionally "delusional" about who they "stan" for because other "stans" obnoxiously gloat when faults are admitted. So, instead, we get a bunch of: "Gaga is iconic. That cover she did is iconic. 'Born This Way' is iconic. The egg is iconic." Everything is "iconic" to the Gaga stan, and they won't admit that "Born This Way" is even A LITTLE generic because they "lose to Britney stans." And vice versa: "Britney is the queen. Her dancing is amazing. 'Hold It Against Me' is very different. She's unstoppable." If everyone was just a little more real about who they stan for, then less shade would happen.
