Rihanna HAS to bring it, GRAMMYS and the NBA thing, THE AMA was a big step, but she can do better, vocally that is!
Rihanna's tour will do quite well, but Rihanna isnt as popular as you think in the US. She much more popular WORLDWIDE. That's the truth!

Hmmm....didnt Katy's album just cross 1 million in sales, Tracee in the US after 6 months? Katy is panned by some for her live performances. She's doing fine.
Rihanna is going to be fine.

I agree, Rated R was commerically a flop, but LOUD is doing quite well, I'm very happy, but Rihanna can't do what Fergie or X-tina did at the Grammys or NBA. She has to make sure everything is on point, the US is so critical and they won't go to her tour if she can't impress them and standout at different shows and stuff.
The Grammy's vocals need to be on FIRE!!!!
NBA she needs to just perform her ass off, she's doing the ENTIRE HALFTIME, she better work!

I totally understand everything else about the tour though.
|
Lol noooo. I didn't track things back then but as far as the US is concerned I'm pretty sure I Kissed a Girl was Katy's breakthru track.

Rihanna seems to get more flack from everyone, I don't know why but she does, look at the S&M mess!
So Rihanna needs to exceed in everything that she does, nothing below par!

+1 , rihanna said in response to someone who said "bitch you better bring the fire for the grammys" , she said that she "got you"
Rihanna knows the deal.....These performances are going to sell her tour.

Rude Boy took an entire month to go #1 after it was released, but it's because she promoted. She did the Kid's Choice Awards, Ellen, Good Morning America. and AOL Sessions all performing Rude Boy.
The Grammy's ain't gon' help none because Britney and GaGa will also be performing there, as well. So, yes, they'll all rise in sales, but HIAM has 4 times the airplay that S&M does right now. BTW will get a **** ton of first week sales, as well. I don't know how well performing at a Basketball game half-time show is going to help her, either
Her only chance is to actually promote S&M. She's hardly done anything this entire era for promotion. She needs to take next week and go hard before she leaves for her tour, cause once Feb 20th hits, she won't be able to promote for almost a month. She can do both the day time and late night talk shows. Her on Chelsea Lately would be hilarious and probably help her for more people to see her funny side.
|
well I hope she end up promoting the single...

Katy Perry is being promoted to no end, that's the main reason of her singles success. Her album success is just ok compared to the singles. If her tour sold well in the US i can only think the Loud tour will also do well, i read on twitter it will go on sale next week

I kissed a girl was HUGE for Katy, but I think Firework is going to be one of the BEST sellings songs ever in ITUNES!
The song is just crazy good and its a MONSTER in digital sales!!!!

I definitely agree with whoever said Jessie J should open for Rih. She can blow and didn't she say she loved Rih? If Price Tag does well here that should happen. Who else is there really? I mean no offense to Katy but I don't want unknowns like Robyn and M&TD...I don't care how well their albums are received by critics.
You didn't ask me but there is my 2 cents.

Exactly, she knows she doesnt have any room for error,
lets go back to last year, her awful performance on IDOL was the last time America saw her live, and it left a bad taste in their mouths, hence why the LGOE Tour was so great commerically.

You should post all of the dates, including CANCELLED DATES!
She did well but come on, if you say, Rihanna is so popular she'll bring in so many people to her tours, then you need to admit that LGOE wasn't so bigg commerically
