"Look at what she did to him!"

1. I like Muse
2. If Katy wins a vocal award performance.......I like Teenage Dream, but I it didn't even deserve a nomination for AOTY.
3. Born This Way inspired me to come out to my mother during the summer. I mean of course I hadn't heard anything from the song, but by then we all knew it was Gaga's album title. It felt great.

I don't think you see the point.
Sarcasm is not welcome, I'm deadly ****ing serious.
If all you people care about is whether Lady Gaga gets a #1, I'd give up on life.
To think she's made a single to change people's lives is more effective, than some over played pop song that drives people nuts.
I thought her 'stans' would know who and what she is by now.

I admire her efforts to advance the gay community but it does seem a bit exploitative too. I always thought Cher and Madonna earned their gay followings because they were fierce, flamboyant, independent crusaders. Lady GaGa seems like too much of a sycophant, too cliché, too desperate to please and with little finesse.

Unfortunately you did come off as snobish, but you have your opinion. The word 'exploitative' has been thrown around with Gaga and her expression of gays so freely that I don't think anyone actually knows what it means. At this point, Gaga does not have to make Born This Way. She could easily re-make The Fame in a heartbeat. She chooses to express her love for her gay followers because we took notice in her first. Gaga claims to have played in gay clubs before straight, and the gays seem to really love her. I think it is really unfair how "self respecting homosexuals' like yourself do not see the difference in supporting and exploitating. I'd understand if Gaga talked the talk but never provided any back up, but she has been politically, finanically, and socially involved...I think more than any "self respecting homosexual' I know. I know she's in the better position, but that makes it even more the better. I'd rather Gaga write these cheesefest lyrics, as opposed to talking about how much she loves the gays but never do anything about it.....

I see the point. I just find it funny what people are inspired to come out by, god knows how many people probably came out because of the "faggy couch" comment scene from Glee. Me- Justin coming out by dancing with his boyfriend at the wedding in Ugly Betty. Really it's funny, sorry if i have a different sense of humor.
I honestly don't care whether or not she gets a number 1 (actually do but its not all i care about lol.)
And it's great she made the song, never said it wasn't. Yes, she understands, and all of us do too, how meaningful what she does for many people is and its incredible that she does it and is doing this song.
But I just thought it's funny how coming out something so personal and difficult is affected by something not so personal (I know people can have attachment to Gaga, but not the same idk how to describe.)
I thought well what if Gaga kept postponing the song? Or they thought about coming out the day the song premieres since the VMAs. Stuff like that came to mind. And even how Patrick made fun of in his long post how a confused 15 year old needs a celebrity to tell him he can be himself. And how that's true. Not saying it's bad, but thats the way society is.

I don't think the date was the main desire, I think it's just Gaga's behind them?
I mean, IDK, I'd assume it's the song/album that's giving them this inner power to do it.
Some people do connect well with her, so it is like she's standing beside them. But that's more psychological..
I just think the track itself will help a lot of people, and I know that's the aim of the single

I acknowledge that and commend her for it. I'm referring more to that incident of her screaming her head off at the podium in the equality march. That was a bit obnoxious. I appreciate that she wants to support a minority, but to pretend she is a part of that minority and to make it seem as if their struggle is her own is insulting. Compassion and support is welcomed, piggybacking is not. It's like a white person acting as the spokesperson for the African American community.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for success and covers of this and that
But this single seems different than some ordinary pop song. It's like all of Gaga's work, rolled into one.

This is a valid point, but I disagree. I think she can scream her head off and practically act like this is her fight too because she has thrown herself into the gay community. You cannot say that when she mentions the gays during interviews or acceptance speeches that it is not a little bit awkward. Its not very glamourous either, yet she is willing to sacrifice that glamour for them. I'm just saying she could be even more popular on a main stream level without the gays, but she hasn't abandoned them. Now add all the speeches, music, music videos, etc dedicated to them and she should be able to stand up for them like she is one of them, because she has given up so much time, money, fame, and popularity. In the world we live in now for a popular music artist to be part of such an unpopular thing shows alot about her character and devotion.

The fact is straight people do fight for gay rights. There are concerned people out there who worry about the fact that homosexuals are treatly different. I've met plenty of heterosexual people surrounded just by their gay friends/loved ones who are really passionate about getting the message across. Why I think the gay community is something Gaga feels close to is because she played for them first, and they excepted her first. Gaga feels accepted amongst homosexuals because she feels as though most understand her...as a woman, as an entertainer, and as a persona. Very true. Homosexual men do seem to have a totally different perspective on stronger women, but that's another topic.....
You're acting as though Gaga can't be concerned (though I'm well aware you welcoming compassion and support). As though she doesn't have a say in the matter because she's not a full blown lesbian, but that is senseless. You have this 'us vs them' mentality when the truth is it says a lot when straight and gay people can march together. I am not Lady Gaga so I cannot say what goes on in her mind, but I do think it is fair that she can't march for DADT without being 'obnoxious' or 'exploitative' when she could very well be just another concerned person. I very much admire her using her fame to bring attention to these issues. But I don't want Gaga to say 'I accept gays and support them,' I want her to act it out. So many people say things, but very little actually do them.
Oh, and there have been several white people in history to have helped the black community way back when. Support for equality is beyond 'insert Born This Way lyric.'

NO. it's not. A more accurate analogy would be to say "it's like a white POP ICON of the time speaking out against discrimination against blacks". And believe that noOne would have had a problem with that

3. A 30 second snippet of Born This Way has surfaced
I thought these days would go by fast, but I find myself slugging along.....waiting for 2.13
