As long as "E.T." hits 1.5 million in sales, I'd consider it a success. It's the 4th single and not as inviting as the other singles but it's still a good choice. It'll add a little variety to Katy's repertoire.

Your logic is deeply flawed. Do you really think the general public is checking Katy's Wikipedia page every day waiting for her to announce a new single so they can buy it? No, people aren't going to buy the song until A. They hear it on the radio B. They see the music video C. It is performed on television or D. It is featured on iTunes home page. Right now, it has none of those 4 things so chill out.
