Albums are practically becoming irrelevant. I'm not gonna spend more money to buy an album when I can preview the songs and decide on which I like and which I dislike. The only albums I buy unconditionally are Rih's.

I think it's not so much the lack of quality, it is the target audience (teenagers) that are the biggest problem. Ask anyone at my school if they buy albums, they will either say "no" or "too expensive". Also, most don't even know that an album is out, which is why some albums get a giant boost from their TV advert - more exposure = more sales.

Yeah and illegal downloading is just taking the issue to a whole new level. According to reports, 95% of music are obtained illegally via file sharing networks while only a trivial 5% is contributed by legal transaction. Eminem's Recovery could go diamond if illegal downloading is banned permanently, the same thing goes to Taylor.

Rihanna has so many haters tho. TheFlopJuice is just They have to mention Riri is every post even if it has nothing to do with her

I think maybe not... yes, possibly more people would legally download, but some people would find other ways to get the music for free (e.g. sharing with friends). Although in this day and age eliminating all illegal downloading is almost impossible. Action should have been taken earlier to prevent these consequences.
