alksddslfjkdfkhdhdghgdhdghdghdkghgh!! I CANT! THE PRODUCTION, THE DUBSTEP, THE ****ING BRIDGE!!!! Why Britney did that? HIAM makes EVERY song from 2010 look like ****.
Sorry, but I will always stan for Blackout.
Danja + Bloodshy & Avant are always one step ahead of the rest.
i hope they produced some tracks for this album!!
It’s been hinted heavily that she was headed towards a harder, “grimier” sound - but to actually think Team Britney would go ahead and release top 40’s first head-strong dub-step appearance seemed wishful at best - especially with unabashed pop producers Max Martin & Dr. Luke at the helm of the album.
Well, they were not messing around. “Hold it Against Me” is one of Britney’s strongest records, period - and if this is our first taste of the album to follow, consider my expectations very high.
The verses are just mean as the bass line comes over the listener like a damn chainsaw before dropping the beat and melting into a chorus that will become comparable to the other divine choruses of Pop2K.
And then there’s that dub breakdown. It’s freaking awesome.
Right at the end of that (which, btw, incorporates many of Brit’s signature “ooh’s,” et al) the listener will experience a moment of Divine Pop (<——This happens at 2:45) , which is where a pop song transcends not only itself, but all that is sacred in pop music.
Sigh.
In brief, “Hold it Against Me” is the ideal Britney Spears record: dark, different, instant, and, mainly: melodic.
The whole thing is just masterfully produced. Each time the verses come in a new element is added to the mix to push the track along and create this amazing building tension. You can tell it's all leading up to something amazing and then BAM they hit us with a breakdown that's better than anything you possibly expected. It's enough to make me ejaculate. I can't take it.
