no, they won't. the'll still be in their 300's. people still have gift cards. not to mention the airplay keeps going up. they may go lower on sales but they'll go higher on airplay. Katy might not but Bruno will. He's going to get that number one spot when Britney debuts.

Britney can't do it. Taylor was the only one that was able to do that. Taylor has support from pop fans, country fans, adults, tweens, etc. she has EVERYONE on her side. We know how loyal the country fans are. Britney just has the pop stans which are not that loyal.

For the record, I never even had a copy of the demo to leak. But i'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda glad it did.

If HIAM is released digitally next week, it's without a single doubt going to #1. Now, the song in the same week from the last two years sold:
2010: 252,000
2009: 279,000
Now, this isn't too bad. Considering it's Britney, the song will top 250k for sure. Now, it's up to whether the radio will support it much or not.
|
2011: 1,000,000
You'll wait and see
j/k, I'd love it, but I hope she will crack 350,000 the debut week of HIAM, I'll be pretty satisfied with it

I meant that she is the only artist left in the industry currently (Pop field) that can still pull it off, other than Taylor, since she already did it. Britney did it too before, right? But now would be more impressive.

Britney has already sold over a million in a week, 1,300,000...
And yes I know now it would be more impressive.
I just would like her to have her 5th 500,000+ opening week

Perhaps she will pull a million if Jive will go through with the brilliant Facebook campaign idea

if sales will be down, they'll be down for Britney as well. why do people act as if it only happens to one person? it'll happen to everyone.

Who is ABLE to buy the single on Tuesday?

I'm buying it and gifting it to friends.

I just want longevity. I'm hoping "Hold It Against Me" gets the airplay it deserves.

Taylor's sales are far more impressive even if Britney has the biggest female debut.

Selling 1M singles a week should happen in the near future. But not now, since the release date is problematic (Sales are weak in this time of the year). The strongest sales week for singles digitally is Christmas and Summer time.
If a huge artist releases hyped song, that has radio support and a first single, whoever it is, he / she can probably pull it off. It's most likely to be achievable at Christmas time.

How much did "3" sell it's first week again?
That wasn't even hyped or anything. I'm sure we can surpass that.

Even though the effect of iTunes gift cards is starting to dwindle, Britney is still going to get a HUGE benefit from them next week.
She should have no problem beating Bruno - his song is a second single that's been out forever and sold considerably already. His AI is big but it's not Rihanna-big.

When I said down, I mean it will come down from the record highs to being stabilized. That doesn't effect Britney because a brand new single from a major artist like Britney will sell. Do you not monitor charts at all when Britney isn't on them?

I really wish that Brit would get some kind of head start on airplay before the single though. Like if they released it today on radio and on iTunes on Tuesday... just a thought...

I'm starting to sense some flamebaiting, and that button is flashing.
