It's a good idea...but it also seems pretty desperate for facebook likes or... relevancy as well call it. (I know other artists have done similar thing, I'm not saying that she is desperate, it just appears that a move like this is desperate.)

It's to generate awareness of the single. It could backfire though - people could just download it for free and not buy it.

I hope you know that GF and Tik Tok were available for free too. It's just a strategy to get more attention . I think it's a right move. They started promoting her like crazy and i'm so happy

and WTH means "What The Hell" which is Avril's new single, I can easily suppose that the most obvious thing to think is that the free download for the 1/1/11 is most likely gonna be What The Hell.
