Britney paved the way for Mandy Moore and Willa Ford. The impact on Lady Gaga is there, but not ANYWHERE near the extent her fans like to believe. 
The sooner both fan bases realize they are both pop legends, the better. It generally ALWAYS starts with Britney's fans though, the majority come off really bitter and insecure (not only on this forum). The sane ones are great though.

Who's THEY? This year Forbes, Vanity Fair and The New York Times called Lady Gaga the Queen of Pop, not to mention all the publications that called her the #1 pop star in the world.
I wouldn't pay so much attention about what THEY say.

There's maybe 2 sane Britney fans on this board, 3 tops. The rest are busy looking for YouTube videos that say Lady Gaga didn't invent anything so they can post them here.

This GaGa-Britney feud on ATRL will never seem to end - it's pretty pathetic though. GaGa's impact is huge. It's not as great as Britney's. Madonna will always be #1, and GaGa shall peak at #3. Nothing can change that. Not you or your pressed ass.

She manages to combine music and fashion flawlessly because she sure knows how to get them headlines, and that is what it's all about.
