I just watched the video on the website (which is hilarious, by the way!). Though they show many clips that precede "Gimme More," the line "It's Britney, bitch" is featured most frequently. They seem to suggest that Britney is the cause for the recent trend. Interesting...

Hmm... when did I say that? Gaga made it big! I just say she has been only 2 years in the spotlight, what would happen if she ends up being another CYNDI LAUPER?

Gaga has done so much in so little time, no doubts about that but not nearly close as the impact Britney had during her initial years.

Second paragraph is absolutely true, however, you can't take those conditions and apply them only where it's most convenient. Gaga sold half of what Britney sold, but albums in general sell half of what they did in the late 90s'. Likewise, the lower peak positions of Britney's earlier singles compared to Gaga's were because they were released before the dawn of the digital era. Gaga's album sales are the standard of pop success today, just like Britney's were in her prime. Even "legendary" Britney and LEGENDARY Madonna are lucky to sell a couple milli with a new release.

The term legend is used way too loosely around here.

How can you even deny her immense impact on the music industry/pop culture.
The fact that she, as a still relatively new act managed to sell albums like no other, earned award after award and got headlines like it's the easiest thing to do, proves that she indeed made an impact on the current music industry.

She already broke countless records and it's as of today almost impossible to imagine the pop culture without the force that is Lady Gaga.

Britney paved the way for Gaga just like Madonna paved the way for Britney, Xtina and others. And just like how Gaga paved the way for many other eccentric dance-pop stars who will succeed her. Gaga played a big role in the transition from an urban-dominated mainstream to euro-pop and dance, the same way the Britney helped lead in the teen pop craze in the late 90s/early 2000s. I mean, are people really trying to deny Gaga's monumental impact on pop music and culture in last few years? Can they be THAT delusional? The media is CONSTANTLY stressing her impact everywhere, but I suppose some of you just change the station/ignore the publication so you can keep pretending it's not happening. SMH.
