Out of curiosity, how do you guys think the inevitable Britney/Gaga competition will play out? Who will have the bigger first hit and singles? Bigger first day/week sales? Total sales?

I'm really curious because Gaga is at the top of her game right now and they are each others biggest competition in a long while.

I really think Gaga was really smart with EP, though. It prevented her from a sophomore slump (she was setting herself up from being overexposed and managed to keep the momentum).

I'm so freaking excited for this as Britney is my #1.

But at the same time I'm scared as hell. I really, really want her to go moreso in the ITZ/BO direction as opposed to the poppy/cookiecutter BS that Circus/3 was. I hate that she's even working with Dr Luke & Max Martin because their songs are generic as ****, but the fact that Luke is excutive producer? I can't.

I'll probably love whatever she puts out, but I was really dissapointed in "3" and most of Circus was filler/super generic, and I really don't want her to keep going in that direction.

I actually think Britney might sell out GaGa, since she had a break of 2 years and GaGa has always released things, people sometimes get tired of an artist and that might actually happen with Lady GaGa.

Britney Spears's upcoming album has reportedly been influenced by the current UK music scene. According to The Sun, the singer has worked on tracks with dubstep producer Rusko, while Labrinth and Chase & Status have also been linked to the project. Rusko told the paper: "It's a bit random, but I'm so excited by the challenge. One track turned out amazing. It's proper hard dubstep." Speaking earlier this week of her contribution to the LP, songwriter Jessie J said: "It's more British than you would expect but with the Britney swag. People will be surprised. It could be the most amazing thing I've done." Spears has confirmed that her new album will be released in March 2011.

i agree. i think the first single will definitely reach number 1 because that's what always happen when britney takes long break. the anticipation / sales is big but im feeling this era is gonna be bigger. were gonna see britney everywhere if her camp would treat her like ITZ era type,where she's free.

about GaGa i don't know if she's still going to be that big, after alejandro, people thought of her as an antichrist girl. you know what i mean? she might have lost some audience.
