"Gimme More" and "Piece Of Me" had the potential to be iconic, but they weren't. They came close.
"Piece of Me" is somewhat "iconic" even if you deny "Gimme More"'s impact.
But in comparison to the other songs on that list I agree while disagreeing.

Well, "Gimme More" at least had the "It's Britney, bitch!" line and that performance.
Bad Romance > Poker Face, and you will deal. It made her what she is today - not Poker Face, although that song was very iconic and influential on her career.
In order from most iconic to least iconic from each era
I'm A Slave 4 U
Gimme More
...Baby One More Time
Oops...I Did It Again
Toxic
Womanizer
"Womanizer" being at the bottom is just meh. It might not be the greatest song in the world for me but it was iconic in the sense of it being her "comeback" song and it paid off big time. "Toxic" should be above "GM" for obvious reasons. "Oops...I Did It Again" is way more iconic than "Gimme More". The red catsuit and the staple lyric I'm not that innocent are timeless. The rest of the positions I kinda agree on.

Without Poker Face, you wouldn't have a Bad Romance.

I'm just in love with GM, so I rank it above other obviously more iconic songs
Without Poker Face, you wouldn't have a Bad Romance.
And the charts agree
The problem is your position is a hypothetical scenario and mine is reality. Judging by reality, Bad Romance did more for her than Poker Face did, not to downplay what Poker Face did for her

"It's Britney, bitch !" is just legendary and that performance was meh not because of Britney just because of the whole feel around it was poorly crafted.

Atleast Poker Face was nominated in ROTY and SOTY.

I love that performance.
She wasn't ready for a comeback then though and the performance was bad only by Britney standards.

I didn't see Bad Romance give her a no.1 in the US, and I for sure didn't see Poker Face getting comments from the critics about how it was strikingly similar to a previous single

Exactly but I don't think the performance is bad, I just think it was poorly crafted. The set was a mess since there were no theatrics to add to the dancing like initially planned etc. I still watch it on youtube whenever I have my Britney VMA marathon.
Anyway, I want her to go to the VMAs and perform in 2011 so badly.
