Only one bad experience. When I was like 6 one of my friends has this big dog that was usually very friendly, but not having pets and not knowing better I decided to pet him while he was eating. He interpreted it as me trying to steal his food and basically mauled me and chased me until my friend's dad could get him under control.
But really, dogs have always intimidated me, both before and after that event. They're too in your face, too excitable, and too unpredictable. I'd much rather have a cat that's completely indifferent to me and content to be left alone than an attention hungry dog who needs to be stimulated with constant play, particularly dogs that like to have rough play.
