BEP pretty much started this horrible techno dance trend in pop music, and it looks like they're the first causalities. Hopefully they're not the last.

Actually, this week is filled with disappointing sales. BEPs #s are super disappointing considering both of their last albums opened with 250K+ (The E.N.D. 300K+). The Beginning's numbers are a third of that.
But Jazmine's last album opened with 66K, while her new album is 55-60K I thought she could do a little better. And Chrisette's last album opened with 83K, this new one is half of that.
Ouch. Thanksgiving Slump
I'm scared to see Kanye & Nicki's drops next week.

He didn't say it was close to Gold. The album looks like it will reach Gold, she'll sell well through Xmas. Gold in early 2011.

and it's not the material, or the artist, it's RCA. There was only 9. One we had for an entire year. Another that was a remix that sounded almost identical to the original. Of course we had "We R Who We R." but then someone decided to release 3 more songs before the album release. The album was also leaked BY RCA in advance This is the crappiest album strategy I have seen in my life, and therefore they have just put Ke$has career in jeopardy. On top of releasing every god damn song on the album, RCA decided not to promote or release a music video. Like WTF? I've never know an album to be released without a music video to accompany it?
Bottom line is: I don't see this topping gold, and I don't see more than 2 more singles being released, if even that.
They need to release:
1.We R Who We R
2.The Harold Song
3.Grow A Pair
4.Blow
The Harold Song needs the **** to be promoted outta it, PUSHED HARD to HAC/AC and worldwide. This is the album seller, this is the track that will make Ke$ha develope as an artist.
Grow A Pear, albeit genric, will be a massive digital hit, and could possibly be the biggest song of next summer.
Blow is different, and very worldwide sounding:
With this EP they need her to become an established overseas artist.
I swear to god if they release "Sleazy" and "C U Next Tuesday" I am done ... RCA has possibly ruined Ke$has career.
Rant over lol , great to be back!

They're not crap at all. Yes, they are less than I was hoping/expecting, but they're solid nonetheless.
I do agree that the strategy was pretty weird, but RCA never do things right when they try to follow what other artists do.
I also agree with what you said about "The Harold Song". I will be upset if they don't release it because, as you said, I think it could help her image and develop herself as a true artist in the public's eye.
Here's where I disagree - I much prefer the idea of "Cannibal" as a single. I think it has a great sound that would not only help her keep her consistent hits in the U.S, Canada, and Australia, but it could do quite well in Europe, gaining some hype up for her there again.
I think it's also a plus that both "The Harold Song" and "Cannibal" are not produced by Dr. Luke. That'll help her evolve too, showing she doesn't need him for hits. "Blow" and "Grow A Pear" are just safe hits that won't help her sell the album, and won't show any progression.

First off she sold, 96k which IS solid, considering the album had 4 weeks between single release and album release. It's going to hold up very well. FYI, you're becoming a pest criticizing her.

I don't know why everyone is naming every other song besides "Crazy Beautiful Life" as a potential single when that is clearly the most popular song on the album after WRWWR. I think that should be the 2nd single.
"Cannibal" has a catchy, powerful chorus but the verses are sparse and the lyrics will turn many people off. Also, I sincerely do not understand the hype over "The Harold Song." The chorus just isn't that great and I don't think that just because it's a love ballad it will make people respect Ke$ha. That strategy certainly didn't work for Katy and "Thinking of You."

"Crazy Beautiful Life" is only the most popular song on the album bar "We R Who We R" because of the pre-released countdown singles. But I would much prefer "Crazy Beautiful Life" over "Blow" and "Grow A Pear".
I think if "Blah Blah Blah" and "Take It Off" were able to sell well with their lyrics, "Cannibal" won't have a problem. And it's not really about respect at this point, it's just about showing she can be more than the up-tempo party girl and letting people warm up to a different side. It's also not as huge of change as Katy did going from electro-pop to pop-rock ballad - "The Harold Song" still retains the synths and beats that made her famous.
But, if it fails, it fails, I would just like to see her try and not take the "safe" route.

I honestly dont want u Kesha fans to think imma pest, but i honestly was expecting much more sales from Cannibal.
Probably even double what she actually got is what i would have predicted.
How come Animal Debuted at number one , while Cannibal debuted at 15? i think
she should have been atleast top 10
and guys COME ON, 96K IS NOT SOLID for a black friday week (for kesha) with a new release .. its not AWFUL but it certainly is not good or solid

Good points except BBB and TIO were about casual sex and partying. "Cannibal" is about eating a guy; of course I know it's tongue-in-cheek but a lot of people will be repulsed by it. Especially with lines like "Now that I'm famous, you're up my anus."

But what does "for Ke$ha" mean? She's just now entering her 1st year in Mainstream spotlight. Animal did well because it was released outside of major competition, during a slow sales month, and it had much more hype than Cannibal.
I think Cannibal will get a boost in later weeks. Hopefully.

Hopefully is right
i just find it "funny" ( no shade) that she can sell SOO much in January
but only a lil more than half of those numbers during Black Friday Week
but i guess it doesnt matter as long as it has longevity

"Crazy Beautiful Life" is a great song but another "Your Love Is My Drug" . There was no growth, in fact she went backwards quality-wise.
"C U Next Tuesday" is THE WORST option
The original version of "Animal" was better.
"We R Who We R" is the best track on the album and better than most "Animal" tracks.
"Sleazy" is super hot and I love it but definitly a disaster waiting to happen.
I showed a whole bunch of people "Cannibal" and they were all disgusted. Yet another amazing song but not a single in my opininon.
"Grow A Pear" , yes genric, but will sell the most digital copies , especially if released in the summer.
"Blow" is crazy and I really want it as a single.
"The Harold Song" is ****ing amazing and needs to be released.
Needless to say, I am dissapointed but I do blame RCA. And 96k is not very good, at all, no matter how you twist it.
Girl better step it up a knotch.
I ****ing love get and now I'm so worried she's going downhill this EP was a massive mistake

Congrats to Christina! Bested HDD's 25-50k prediction, selling 63,000 copies without any first single or music video released! Just plain movie exposure!
