Since it's so damn boring in here right now, every should share their Rihanna story; how they became a stan, why we praise Rihallah
Here's what I posted (my very first post) in the OG thread.
1. Her voice. Does she have the biggest, most perfect, belting voice on earth? No. But that is not what anyone is here for. Ask J-Hud, big voices are not what is selling. But Rihanna's voice is hands-down one of the most unique voices out of any in the industry. It stands out and is distinctive. You can hear 5 seconds of a song and know it's Rihanna. Not that many other artists out there can have the same said about them.
2. She's not afraid of change. I stan for Rihanna because she keeps it interesting. You can never get bored with her music because she is such a versatile artist. From her soulful power ballads (Russian Roulette, Cry, CCL, etc.) to her club house smashes (OG, DSTM, SOS), her smooth midtempos (Photographs, We Ride, etc.) her Island-rooted songs (Man Down, MOTS, HIGA) and more. She is like 5 artists wrapped in one, all without coming off as forced or uninspired. Seriously, if you have a mood...There's a Rihanna song for that. Literally.
3. Her beauty. Easy, breezy, beautiful. No one compares to Rihanna's beauty. She's gorgeous and exotic with looks that are incomparable. Ask ANYONE else if there favorites can still look amazing with a half shaved head or a fire engine red wig. Hell, she could pull an Amber Rose and still have that natural beauty people would die for.
4. Her style. Haters can come for her all they want, but they cannot knock her style. She is a fashion icon and does so naturally. I still remember last summer when everyday people would be gagging at her day clothes taken by the paparazzi. Unlike certain celebs, she doesn't have to wear obnoxious clothing/costumes to garner attention in the fashion world. Unlike certain celebs, she doesn't play it safe either. #NoShade. She is a risk taker in fashion all while not reeking of 'tries-too-hard'.
5. Her story. This girl started off as a teenager from Barbados singing in talent shows and look where she is now. Haters can compare her to other celebs, saying she'll never be as good as Beyonce. Well, in all honesty, for Bey's sake, I hope not. When Rihanna came out, she listed Beyonce and Mariah as two of her idols, the people who she inspired to be like in the music world. And now? She's comparable to both of them. That in itself, above all, is completely amazing. I don't need her to top Bey or Mimi. The fact that she's put in comparison with them - her idols growing up - is enough. Who else can say that?
6. Her success. Probably the easiest one to stan about. Let me let the charts speak for themselves. SOS. Umbrella. Take a Bow. Disturbia. Live Your Life. Rude Boy. Love the Way You Lie. What's My Name. Only Girl. Enough said. And that's just #1. In the US. Do I need to mention her 17 Top 10's? Her 21 Top 20's? And all this at age 22. Who else has done it???
7. Her progression. Only a true fan can have the joy of watching her grow before them from the very beginning. From this little girl with Music of the Son, starting to come into her own with A Girl Like Me, the emancipation of RiRi aka Good Girl Gone Bad. And then, we as fans got to experience exactly what she went through with that heathen monster in her emotional album Rated R. And now, The Rihanna Navy is blessed again seeing her now in a better, happier place with Loud. Her albums aren't just about what music is relevant during the time it's released, but its also about her life, showcasing where exactly she is as a person.
8. Herself. Have you seen her in interviews? Hilarious, down to earth, perfection. Humble as all hell yet still not afraid to let someone know ("Your cute") when she has to.
9. Last and most important, WHO ELSE IS THERE? Because no one else is good enough, imo. When someone comes around that has all this and more, I will drop Rihanna like a bad habit. But until that happens - and trust, we all know, it never will - Rihanna is always The Only Girl in the World to me.
I liked Rihanna from almost the beginning. Like many, when I heard Pon de Replay, I was convinced she'd be a one hit wonder. But, when IILTYW came out, I really started liking her and was excited she was coming out with a 2nd album so soon. GGGB kinda pushed it over for me. It wasn't really the singles that made me a fan (Umbrella and SUAD might be my 2 least fave), but the CD as a whole was amazing to me. Other than TLC's Fanmail and Ashlee Simpson's Autobiography, I had NEVER been able to listen to an entire CD without skipping one song. GGGB became one of those CD's for me. Though I was a fan from almost the jump, I don't think I really reached stan level until GGGBR. Unfortunately, I wasted too much time of my life stanning for Danity Kane Luckily, I was Saved, and found the way of being a Navy recruit.

^That's a story
I heard unfaithful a little after it came out and i related to it a lot and i was basically sold with that. Her GGGB era was really amazing, catchy and great tracks, but i became a hugeee fan, maybe a stan when i first heard Russian Roulette, that song showed how Rihanna could transmit a message that meant a lot for her in a song, she showed passion and strong vocals, and i think it was a really brave move, after all the stuff she went through...and look at her now, better than ever and as a bonus, i can tell she's probably the most versatile artist of the past years Rihsus

At first, I hated Rihanna, I thought she was a cute girl, but was a normal regular teenager trying to make it in the industry. I hated on her for a while. However, when I heard Unfaithful, I was like dayum, this girl can sing, and I immediately took notice of her. I went back and bought her other albums and fell in love. I took back all the hate i once had for her! When umbrella came out that's when i recognized her superstardom, international dominance and beauty!!! When she cut her hair, her image was refreshing and just amazing. She went from cute to stunning. I became her stan!! Rated r saw me stan for her even harder, she by that time, was a household name!! Now LOUD is amazing, don't need to go further haha. Her voice is unique, and is constantly improving. I hated het tone back in 2005, but songs like TAB, Unfaithful, CKB, show how beautiful her voice is!
Rihanna has set the bar for every female artist. She's come light years and she's here to stay! I love her and will always be a navy member!!!

At first I thought she was a one hit wonder and curse that 5 head. I liked her first 2 songs especially iILTYW. When SOS came out I was a Fan (not yet a stan) Unfaithful sealed the deal to me that she was hear to stay and all her singles have been great imo. I never hated one song... not even We Ride which I absolutely loved. When GGGB came out first I was a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Fan. I never started stanning until I heard Take Bow. Since then I;ve been rocking with Rihanna as my main chick since then. Thats my story.

I had heard of Rihanna but never really got into her. I liked S.O.S. but not a whole lot. But then Umbrella captured my heart that summer it was big. I was obsessed. I didn't have an iPod yet so I would have the radio on all day during the summer just waiting for Umbrella to come on the radio. Then one night I was on MuchMusic.com and they had an album preview of Good Girl Gone Bad so I listened to it. I had already heard Umbrella and Shut Up And Drive. I fell in love with Push Up On Me, Good Girl Gone Bad, Breaking Dishes and Lemme Get That. Finally I got an iPod and my sister burned me a CD of GGGB. And then the rerelease helped because I liked all those songs and I also discovered the amazing masterpiece that is Unfaithful. That's what made me a casual fan. But then Rated R is what made me a stan. At first I didn't like it but for some reason I just had this interest to listen to it because I liked Russian Roulette, Wait Your Turn, and Hard. Soon I was addicted to the album and I listened to it everyday for two months straight and I still do listen to it. And since then I have downloaded tons of her other music. Not really the full from her first two CD's but a handful of tracks from each.
And here I am

I loved Pon De Replay so when I first heard it I kept an eye for her. I liked If It's Lovin That You Want but wasn't crazy so I was starting to think that was she was a one hit wonder. Then SOS came out and I was in love again, same with Unfaithful, and then liked We Ride. A Girl Like Me was my first album I bought from her and I loved it. Then Umbrella came and I was blown away and to put the story short I have been a major fan ever since. Loving nearly every single song on Good Girl Gone Bad, Rated R, and Loud and every single released! To this day our last 3 out of 5 albums are still on my iPod constantly being played

Umbrella convinced me she was here to stay. I remember hearing it on the radio for the first time late at night. I didn't like it at first, but I was singing it the next day after hearing it only once. I checked it out again & have loved it since. Also, the video was a huge improvement for her.
I bought GGGB randomly one day, I hadn't even planned to. I just did.
