secret bosses are tough, but I think the normal game has a decent difficulty ramp....I don't think the enemies are harder than in the other games, especially III and IV,
those were tough
IX...yes, it's cheery and lighthearted. Albeit it is filled to the brink with references to the other games and those would be overlooked.
Also the battles are slow.
