Dude, putting the song as a free song not only hurt the song, it's the reason the song didn't enter BB Hot 100 last week and will only get in this week, it took away the surge in sales the song should have gotten with the video release.

Lowering the price of the album version of Only Girl was the best thing they could have done. Its already been massively successful, it just needs an extra push to get it to #1 on the Hot 100. Dont worry, P!nk will more than likely hit the top spot in the next few weeks.

Honestly, I'm just glad it seems like Def Jam finally has their head back in the game this era. It seemed like they lost the stellar marketing skills that they had with GGGB during the last era.

Price of OG is pretty elastic now and since all the hardcore fans who have pretty inelastic demand for the song alrd bought it, lowering the price will bring abt greater revenue, not making losses.

my point is that a label helping their artist is never wrong. and its normal that if they see a chance of getting that #1 just by lowering the price (just for a weekend) then bring it.

This week OG was #1 for just a matter of only hundreds of copies.... and its easy to know that label want their acts to be as successful as possible.

anyway if people dont want to buy the song, they wont buy it even if its for free. but if lowering the price for a weekend helps the song receiving extra promo and selling a bit more. then I dont see the problem.
