this is what happened
Only girl was teh rumoured and later official annouched single.
some woman at some magazine (didn't remembered which one) heard a demo from Cheers and said it was a great song and she thought it would be a great single (or something in that direction)
Blogs, sites and magazines just putted it on their sites and made the story that Cheers would be the first single
But I can see Cheers being a huge hits tho. It's a feel-good sing type. Usually this kinda song is blessed with extreme longevity and chart success in the long run.
