What happened to Josh Groban's album? Isn't he releasing next week?
It should be interesting to see Nelly's numbers. Despite him having a huge hit on Pop, I don't see him doing huge numbers. He didn't cover his Hip Hop fans.

Also, I expect SuBo's album sales to increase as it is getting closer to Christmas. And Taylor is still a factor. Rihanna will have to debut with over 250k to at least have a chance at #1.

I think Wal-Mart exclusives weren't allowed to chart or something like that. It was a fair rule change, but the last minute thing was...
Funny thing is, that album sold 700k first week at just Wal-Mart stores.

I think he'll pull off about 200K, hip-hop fans didn't really help "Brass Knuckles" open or sell big, while "Just a Dream" is a crossover hit.

For some reason, I see around 140-160k first week for him. His last album only opened up with 80k. It's kinda hard to tell if the pop fans who made "Just a Dream" a hit will go out and purchase the album.

Before the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" (which was released the same week as "Blackout"), albums sold exclusively at one retailer couldn't chart on the Billboard 200. The Eagles' album sold more than 700K at Walmart alone.
The rule was changed the last minute, after it has been already announced that "Blackout" had debuted at #1 with almost 300K sold and no one thought that the change would take effect the same week, but it did.

Wow that sucks. I think it's because it was Eagles, and also because the amount was huge. That's sad for britney though, she would have had a string of 6 consecutive #1 albums. But that rule had to be changed anyway, it was unfair, they should just have waited another week and prevent a long time before.

And didn't the HITS total come in at 340k or something like that, but Billboard/Soundscan reported like 290k? That was a bad week for Britney and her fans.

The Long Road Out of Eden leads to the #1 best-selling album in the country this week, but the Eagles won’t be topping the HITS Album chart.
That dubious honor will go to Britney Spears’ Blackout this week, even though it won’t sell half of Eden’s estimated 700K.
