His moment being in mid-2009 and releasing his album in 2010 is actually a very good explanation for the album underperforming. He's also an international artist and they generally sell less in the US than Americans.

Right Thru Me is far from pop.
And of course she's not going to release hardcore songs as singles... her "cutesy" songs are the ones that are able to crossover into top 40. Which will keep her relevant, unlike Lil Kim.
