I swear they're both in different genre's. And, they both have + extras in their careers.
We all know Bey's an actress and a model
As of right now, instead of sales, what does Gaga have that Bey doesn't? (Actually wondering..)

Gaga actually cares about her fans. And shows it.

P!nk is an important artist but not an important celebrity, that's why she can't achieve an enormous amount of impact
Gaga is both
Britney is both
Beyonce is both
Shakira is............I dont know
|
P!nk is a better artist than the others around.
Others are just bigger and more popular celebrities.
Paris Hilton is more talked-about than Pink, doesn't mean she's a bigger artist than her

Umbrella was just a hit song. Sure it got a bit of publicity, but could it match PF/BR in terms of impact?
The only recent song that comes close to rivaling those two songs is Tik Tok.

"Single Ladies" was a pop culture phenomenon... at least the video was. Anyone who denies that needs a reality check.
LOL @ "Tik Tok" Outside of the Billboard Hot 100 and CHR, that song was never a pop culture phenomenon. I don't hear anyone mention that song. I barely heard people mention it when it was #1.

I just can't at the girls saying a Gaga song has made a greater cultural impact than Single Ladies. Only on ATRL.
Quote:
"Single Ladies" has gained widespread popularity for its catchy hook and theme of female empowerment,[3][5] with critics comparing the song to Aretha Franklin's "Respect" or Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".[5] The music video has achieved fame for its intricate choreography,[75] which has been credited as having started the "first major dance craze of both the new millennium and the Internet".[5] It was parodied on Saturday Night Live, where the two female backup dancers from the video were replaced by Justin Timberlake and SNL castmembers Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan.[76] On June 3, 2009, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers did the dance and posted it on their YouTube account for their album countdown.[77] Also, the song and its choreography was used on the popular American TV show Glee, performed by the character Kurt Hummel, played by Chris Colfer, who also performed a watered down version of the dance. The dance was done again later in the episode by the William McKinley High School football team.
The music video has inspired a legion of imitators who have posted videos of themselves on to YouTube attempting to perform the choreography.[75] One of the more popular viral videos is that of Shane Mercado, who appeared on The Bonnie Hunt Show to perform the choreography and later got the chance to meet Knowles. In one of the videos on the internet, filmed by American singer John Legend, the American president Barack Obama can be seen doing a small part of the "Single Ladies" dance, while talking to Knowles.[78] In London, 100 dancers wearing leotards similar to the one worn by Knowles performed the choreography on April 20, 2009 to promote Trident Unwrapped, a gum company.[79] The music video for "Single Ladies" is also parodied on a 2009 television commercial in the United Kingdom for the new Doner kebab flavoured Pot Noodle. Irish Pop duo Jedward have parodied Beyoncé's dance moves for the video of their cover version of "All the Small Things".[80]
The video has generated interest in j-setting, the dance form that choreographer JaQuel Knight highlights in the video, and is credited as bringing the dance style to the mainstream. Like the histories of many popular dances, there are several versions of the development of J-setting (named after the "Prancing J-Settes" of Jackson State University in Jackson, MS). In a radio interview on NPR's All Things Considered, Knight shared his excitement about the popularity of the video's one-take dance sequence as an inspiration for anyone to get up off the couch and try out the moves.[81]
The popularity of the video on YouTube has been in turn reflected by Knowles; during her concert tour, excerpts from many of the YouTube videos play on the video screens in the background.[61] In the music video for "Dancin on Me" by DJ Webstar and Jim Jones, it features three females in the background imitating the "Single Ladies" dance.
"Single Ladies" won the 2009 BET Awards Video of the Year. In addition, it was nominated for a total of nine awards at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, and ultimately won the award for Video of the Year, and an additional two awards as well, though its loss in the Best Female Video category to Taylor Swift's "You Belong with Me" led to controversy during the ceremony; Swift's award acceptance speech was interrupted by rapper Kanye West, who grabbed her microphone to declare the "Single Ladies" video as "one of the best videos of all time". When Knowles won the Video of the Year award, she stated, "I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child, and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life" and that she would like for Swift to "come out and have her moment".[82][83][84][85]
The song is covered by The Chipettes, which also topped several charts, in the film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, and is available on the film's soundtrack.
In the Best of 2009 issue of People magazine, Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were featured as #9 on the magazine's list of 25 Most Intriguing People. The photograph for the article showed the three women in leotards mimicking the look from the Single Ladies video.
A Sunday edition of Stone Soup features Val Stone watching the video on YouTube to learn the dance, with her daughter Holly stating that she will "never show her anything on YouTube again" in reaction to seeing her doing the dance.
With other media, the Issue #33 of the comic book series The Brave and the Bold features a scene where Wonder Woman, Zatanna, and Barbara Gordon sing a karaoke version of the song while at a club. The song inspired the title of a new Queen Latifah comedy TV series called Single Ladies,[86] and the film Sex and the City 2 features a performance of this song by Liza Minnelli.[87]
In her short lived Broadway revue, "All About Me", Dame Edna performed a version of the song.[88]
During her tour in Melbourne, Australia on August 13, 2010, Katy Perry offered a performance of "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and also tried to emulate the choreography.[89][90]
Mark-Anthony Turnage composed a setting of the song which he titled Hammered Out. It received its premiere at the BBC Proms.[91]
In the upcoming World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Female Goblins perform this dance with the /dance emote.
Singer/Songwriter and Pianist Sara Bareilles covered the song as part of Billboard's "Mashup Mondays" and also performed the song as part of her setlist on the Lilith Fair Tour 2010. The song became Billboard's most watched video.

LOL at people trying to compare Gaga to Beyonce, apples and oranges if you ask me
Gaga is slaying right now and is the IT girl at the moment, and she definetly has had a crazy amount of impact over the past two years. She might also have amazing longevity, only the future will tell. I like her better than some of the other new artists out there cuz I do feel like she has real talent and passion for what she does.
Bey is in a completely different stage in her career, she's been in the game since the late 90's and went from being the leadsinger of DC to a solo superstar with over 130 million records sold during her career (and counting).
She's well on her way to become a legend and not just for her music and longevity in the game but also for her talent, her success at the box office and her success as an overall business woman.
You just can't compare
