Unlike her superstar ex (no, not K-Fed), Britney's borrowings from urban music don't have a safety net of contact book authenticity: There are no "[ft.]"'s on Blackout. When Team Britney require a dubstep track, for instance, they simply borrow some production tricks and make one. The result is "Freakshow", built around the "wobbler" effect that's a genre standby. A dubstep on the tune, mixing outrage and delight: it still seems to matter when the mainstream borrows underground music, brings it into the wider pop vocabulary.
And...
Spears' new song, “Freakshow,” displays a lot of promise. The production—by Timbaland protégé Danja—is off the hook: very sparse and bass-heavy, revealing the influence of that hot new London-centric electronic-music genre dubstep and Timbo's exotic/skeletal funk techniques.
Pitchfork and many other sites spilled the true tea.
And GaGa is Dance-Pop, just like Rihanna is R&B-Pop. Deal.

those guys will have to show me the dubstep they have been listening too because the London dubstep I listen too is nothing like Freakshow, that song is more like Drum n Bass but ok, if they say so
