Real Rihanna Stans will understand what I mean with this post
Quote:
I'm sitting here watching the "Rihanna Takeover" on the FUSE channel, and Rihanna has just finished her interview. All the while, I'm thinking "Seriously, this woman is amazing. No one has ever inspired me to follow my dreams nd has ever made it okay to be different unlike Rihanna". Just hearing the story of how she sang for Evan Rogers nd how she worked on her demo nd auditioned for Jay Z was truly inspirational. Everything about Rihanna is just amazing. She isn't afraid to be different. She evolves with every album! There's just so much that she does that makes me love her!
I remember my first time listening to "Music of the Sun". My all time favorite tracks (originally) were "Rush", "Thug In My Life", "Last Time", "That La La La", and "Let Me". But Now the whole album is a masterpiece. That was her reggae/island era nd I loved every bit of her. Def Jam (or whomever) tried to get her to stick to her island roots nd tried to sell her that way.
Then, she released "A Girl Like Me". I didn't buy the album until one day I remember singing "Unfaithful" loudly in the car on the way to the flea market, nd that same night at about 2am, my mother went nd brought me that album as well as my first cellphone. My fave tracks on that were "Dem haters", "A Girl Like Me", "PS IM still not over you", nd "SOS"! I would sit in my room nd make up a dance routine to "SOS". I was such a Rihanna stan, that one day I sat in my mothers room for about 2 hours watching soap opera's cause they were gonna play "Kisses Don't Lie" nd Rihanna was gonna be on there! I can't remember which one it was tho. (wait, it was "All My Children" back in 2006)
Then, she released "Umbrella". Nd I didn't know Rihanna was releasing another single cause I didn't have internet at home at the time since I was misbehaving as usual! But i downloaded it at my grandma house from pjbutta.com nd I fell in love! Thats when "GGGB" came out nd I brought it like 5 days after release date (but believe me, I brought the re-release on the release date at 6 in the morning). I swear, my fave tracks were "DSTM", "Breaking Dishes", "Push Up On Me", "GGGB", nd "Rehab". "Hate That I Love You" grew on me, but at first I would avoid it. GGGB Era is the era that all the fickle ass fake wanna be so called "stans" started to appear out of no where! SMDH
Then, the masterpiece that is "Rated R" was released! I dont even think I should have to say much because everyone knows how epic this era is!
I just love Rihanna so much nd she inspires me in every single way! Nd when I become famous, I want to be the male equivalent of her! People bash her saying she doesn't write all her music, but honestly, I wouldn't either! I mean, If I have people who are willing to get on their knees nd write hit music for me, I'd take it too, just as long as its music that describes ME or how I'm feeling or what I want to portray!
Rihanna is building an empire, nd she did what needed to be done to get to where she is today! If that meant not writing her own music on GGGB, nd selling millions of records nd having back to back hit singles nd becoming that huge international star, then so be it! Many singers did what they had to do to make it to where they are today! But that bitch Rihanna is snatching wigs left nd right. 5 albums in 5 years, a book, a perfume, nd a movie on the way, sold out world wide tours, and endorsements out the ass!
I swear, If I ever become famous, if they ever say "Who inspired you the most?" my first response will always be "my biggest inspiration, my idol, would have to be Rihanna. I know you might think that's weird for a man, but if you actually sit back nd watch nd read nd understand everything about her, you would understand where I'm coming from. She lived in a place that, usually, people don't become famous there, which is the same thing with me. I lived in a state that the music industry always ignores. Rihanna got out there nd did what she had to do to get signed to def jam. She releases an album every year, which to some people, may be a little too much, but in my opinion, if you're a singer, there really shouldn't be any big breaks. Being a performer is your job, nd if you want that privilege that everyone isn't blessed with, you have to work your ass off. nd Rihanna worked her ass off 110%. She may not dance all the time, nd she may not do this or that, but she slays in everything she does. There is no denying it. She is true to herself nd always stays humble nd grounded. SHe isn't afraid to take risks, be rebellious, nd go a little to the left. That's why she inspires me. That's why she is my idol, among many other things!"

I've been reading a lot on the album, stuff she's said, S&M info/unexpected video, etc. and I'm so excited. "WMN" and these interviews have really put my faith in this record. I do plan on buying the album, however I hope it leaks next week.
