Having a gay bff isn't all what 90210, Degrassi, One Tree Hill etc. make it out to be. Yes, I'm understanding and love shopping but I'll never be just that I'm a very layered individual. Plus, certain gays are messy so you have to choose (shopping for gays lmao) the right one to be your friend.

I've never seen one of these shows

and I definately don't want a caricature of gays. I just want a male friend that I can take in my arms and hug without it being inappropriate and without him thinking about something else. It's really difficult with hetero friends. I want the perfect male bff and I think he can only be gay. I don't want a shopping addict because I'm not one myself,I actually hate shopping. I don't want a feminine one either because I'm not that girly myself. I want a masculine one who shares the same interest as me including people we date. But you're right I have to choose carefully.
