I feel that this album will have a similar sales to Rated R. Otherwise, it will edge the latter album out but not by a great quantity.
I'm very optimistic Loud will outsell Rated R, long term speaking. Rihanna is a single artist. Therefore, her singles will sell the albums.
GGGB proved this point coz she was having a powerful streak of massive hits back to back to support album sales. With that being said, from Umbrella to Rehab, the sales of GGGB was at a strong trend and was able to reach a level where it sold 100k+ weekly, worldwide. Eventually, with them hits supporting the album, GGGB managed to reach 8+ million worldwide.
Rated R was selling at a steady rate of 15-25k when she was at Hard while stabilizing at 20-25k during Rude Boy. By the time RB free-falling, it decreased considerably due to havin' no singles to support its sales and of course R101 left very little to no impact in album sales in US.
Judging from the tracks from Loud and the reviews we been havin', Loud is gonna have strong singles. As I mentioned,, those are the singles that will continue to support the album and an EP rerelease will boost its sales even further.
