It's a bit more aggressive than most indie bands, but Remy Zero are awesome. I was really looking for their fabulous song "Hollow" but it doesn't seem to be on YouTube. Here it is on iTunes.

Well tbh they're a lot like an American answer to Radiohead and Muse. So if you don't like the others... But I don't think "Yellow Light" is a great representation of their work.
I forgot about one of my faves, a more mellow song called "Fair."

I understand. You're too gay for it. That's ok.
You probably won't like either of those other bands then, but I'll give you some samples just for ***** and giggles. I love Muse but I'm only a casual Radiohead listener (it's one word).
These you probably won't like. Radiohead is much more alternative than Muse, not to mention they're really late-'90s/early-'00s while Muse are popular now.
