I like Blackout, the sound is so fresh to me - but something puts me off lyrically and vocally with that album.......aside from Radar, that song is a classic and could be released on its own. ....and Gimme More.

The rest of her albums are completely different though and there is a huge progression on "Britney", "In the Zone" and "Blackout".

I still don't know how people think BOMT and OIDIA are that similar, OIDIA has a lot more rock influence than BOMT did, with drums and guitars we didn't hear on BOMT...
There is a progression on her work, but most people think it's only from her first 3 to "In The Zone" and then "Blackout"...

And I do agree with this, "Oops" DOES sound like a mature version of BOMT, Britney has always showed evolution,, vocally, musically overall in each CD she launches!

Every song on "Oops!" is perfection, including "Walk On By" which should have made the cut.

listening to Blackout and BOMT it sounds like two different artists I became a fan with Blackout too

I am forced to disagree. I feel Britney on both albums, but it's impossible to compare bubblegum pop to this electro pop that Britney adopted on Blackout. Still, songs like "Heaven On Earth", "Why Should I Be Sad", "Ooh Ooh Baby" can make you remember of BOMT Britney!

But it happens a lot, Blackout was epic but if wasn't listening Brit before that era then you're a casual fan not a real stan/fan

In The Zone, BOMT, Oops..., Britney >>>>>>> Blackout & Circus
The Britney of 1999-2004 was better than the Britney of 2007-2009 in every single aspect (music, videos, performances )
Don't get me wrong I think Blackout is a great album, but I enjoyed more her 4 first albums.

Britney To Get Mind-Bendy And Trippy On New Album?

Quote:
I already told you that Britney Spears might be getting "freaky" on her upcoming—and mucho anticipated—album.
How's that coming along? Well, I just got word that her team recently put together a "writing camp" of top music producers and writers. They were apparently flown to Dallas for a few days to brainstorm and collaborate on new songs for Spears...
"I know that 'Unusual You' off the last album [Circus] has been tossed around like, 'Use this as kind of a jumping off point,' " OneRepublic frontman and über-hitmaker Ryan Tedder told me last night at Ralph Lauren's Big Pony Collection fragrance launch event at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
Even though Tedder—who's produced megatracks for superstars like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Leona Lewis and Kelly Clarkson—didn't take part in the writer's camp, he says Spears producer Max Martin is considering a song he produced with Dan Black.
"It's mind-bendy and trippy," Tedder said, adding, "I applaud the label for saying, 'We're not going to do what's always been done.' I think Britney's such an innovator. She needs to be in the forefront, you know what I mean? You can't come out with something sounding like someone else."

Been stanning since 2nd-3rd grade, literally. I LOVED Britney, and every family member knew it. God, I feel old saying that.
Anyways, I think you can become a stan after Blackout, if that person feels Britney made music they finally liked. Even can go back and explore her older stuff. Cause not all stans are the same, clearly with Duca enjoying "Kill The Lights" over "Piece of Me" or how Karlos likes pre-2007 Britney music over her now. It's crazy how many people love Britney after Blackout, though, considering her issues at the time. So it's nothing to piss on. More stans, even more longevity in her career.

“It’s not a comeback”, insists Larry Rudolph, the manager who discovered Speares as a teen and who still guides her career. “She’s an iconic artist, She’s like Madonna, she’s here to stay”. Rudolph explains her relative absence from the pop culture conversation: “She just wanted to spend a year getting back to basics, being a mom. But now she’s moving into a new album cycle”.

That new album arriving as soon as early next year, will introduce a fresh, “progressive” sound from Spears, according to the stars manager Adam Leber. “It’ll be a departure from what you’ve heard,” he promises.

I just came. Sorry. Hope they both take note of Prophet saying she's been absent.
