Yeah I'm not very comfortable around flaming gays either. But that's probably because I'm a little embarrassed by them. I would never, however, make fun of them--quite the opposite.
They do know something about you.

It's possible that they think you're gay/bi. They know you're looking at them, they know you're conscious of them and interested in them (if not sexually, then just because they're interesting to look at). You're probably an observant person.
