Sales and chart positions are important, but ultimately chart positions will always be more important. Chart position stay the same, sales don't.
They're important for forums like this and to stans, but to artists and labels, it's all about the sales and the money. Sure, everyone wants that #1, but they want the money more than the title/prestige of being #1.
You guys havent even heard both these ladies work and you're all making assumptions. Who knows what theyre albums sound like and what kind of successes they will have? But its cool that you all underestimate Rihanna.. sure she may not sell as much as beyonce but that doesnt mean she cant have a better era with loud than what beyonce will do with her new album. Only time will tell.
Beyonce, she's a much bigger star than Rihanna. Beyonce can sell singles and albums, Rihanna has always been known as a singles artist. Rihanna doesn't even have a 4x platinum selling single yet, Beyonce does so she beats her in almost everything. OG is a taste of what is to come from LOUD, and it hasn't made that much of an impact in the US. Her fans expected it to be number 1, a #3 peak is disappointing when you consider that.
