Rihanna - 4 studio albums
Beyoncé - 3 studio albums
And yet, Beyoncé has sold more albums.
And yet, Beyoncé has won more awards.
And yet, "Crazy in Love" is #118 on the 500 Greatest Songs of All-time list, while "Umbrella" settles at #412.
And yet, Beyoncé is #2 on this years Forbes Celebrity 100 list, with an amazing $87,000,000, while Rihanna is nowhere to be found.

#1s matter, they always will. Especially when you consider the albums are dying, in a few years some artists won't even be releasing albums so they'll become irrelevant. Singles are the future, that's why their sales are increasing every year unlike albums.

RR was a flop I ain't no denying that, but you're talking like OG is already a flop
And you ignored the worlwide part

At the end of the day, a #1 single is great and all, but people forget that singles by themselves are not that impressive. Singles are used to fuel album and concert sales. Singles are a means to an end, not the end itself.
One day we might reach a point where singles are the end itself, but that will be a sad day for the music industry. Hopefully there will be artists who will combat that, and prove that album sales and concert sales are still alive, and that it is possible to rise above this disastrous period in the industry.

Single sales matter, not their chart positions. Especially when Beyonce 4th single can outsell Rihanna's #1 single.

and ? Rihanna is STILL did very well for someone who started out on her OWN.
I'm sure if Rihanna was in the game for 13 years and was in DC3 too she would have done the same. (Minus the Grammys)

YOU DID NOT!
Beyoncé bust her ASS of, working 24/7 to achieve this all! And now you're all being disrespectful towards it? HOW DARE YOU?! We can't HELP it that Rihanna sucked ***** and rode dicks to be something in music. And we all can't help it that Beyoncé DOESNT need beat ups by abusive boyfriends to shoot herself trough the charts! SO ****ING DISRESPECTFUL ! If it wasn't for Jay-Z Rihanna would be a ****ing stripper in a club in Barbados !

I agree, but general public remember the artists for their singles and awards more than for their albums, nobody buys albums anymore.

I'm not saying it's a flop, but compared to what her fans were expecting it was disappointing. They all thought it would be #1.

Singles are known to the general public, we can all name the biggest hits of Beyonce's career for example, but not that many people would know the album tracks in comparison. I think singles are more important than albums because they are more relevant in everyday life.

Sales and chart positions are important, but ultimately chart positions will always be more important. Chart position stay the same, sales don't.

Well there are artists who still sell, look at Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Susan Boyle, Eminem.

Beyonce, she's a much bigger star than Rihanna. Beyonce can sell singles and albums, Rihanna has always been known as a singles artist. Rihanna doesn't even have a 4x platinum selling single yet, Beyonce does so she beats her in almost everything. OG is a taste of what is to come from LOUD, and it hasn't made that much of an impact in the US. Her fans expected it to be number 1, a #3 peak is disappointing when you consider that.
