I personally think that Runaway is a much better song and way more mainstream, so it's not surprising to me. But I guess it's surprising in that Power had a banner and Runaway doesn't.

I think there was still some VMA backlash going on during the Power release, as there were a lot of 1-star reviews on that song specifically mentioning the Taylor incident. Doesn't seem to be happening here.

Why? "Runaway" had a buzzy VMA performance to boost it; "Power" didn't. Also, "Power" is a really intense and intellectual song, fully of angry indictments of society. "Runaway," on the other hand, has the lyric 'Let's have a toast for the douchebags' in it. You know the frat boys are eating that up. (Not to knock "Runaway," which I love, but just look to "Gonorrhea" earlier this week for further proof that Americans seemingly love any "racy" song.)

And the line-up has some classics in them:

But, I guess that some of the hype from the first episode is quickly wearing off, so no one of these songs would likely hit top.
